Gram sabha and elders’ day celebration at Maria Bhavan, Bableshwar

On October 1, 2016, the Gram Panchayat organized a Gram Sabha at Maria Bhavan - Bableshwar, which was attended by approximately 50 women. The participants bravely discussed their problems and difficulties, highlighting issues faced by the community. Sarpanch Rambhau praised the women for their interest in societal development and urged the community to help implement available schemes, particularly health services. He thanked Sr. Catherine Pereira, the Animator, for her dedication in mobilizing the women. The following day, October 2, Elders Day was celebrated with Senior Citizens. The event was special, particularly noted by the early arrival of the most senior woman, Mrs. Dushing. Sr. Catherine offered words of welcome, and Fr. Vilas Sonavane, the Parish Priest, appreciated the Elders' contributions, reminding them they are God’s representatives in the family. A moment of prayer followed, along with video clips recognizing their value and impact on society. The children also contributed by preparing charts expressing their appreciation for the elders. The Senior Citizens felt valued and honored for the recognition.
